Cathy Ballenger, LMFT

Cathy Ballenger is a Southern California native with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. Cathy graduated with a Master of Arts degree in 1996 and was first licensed with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences in 2002. Cathy has worked in a variety of mental health settings, including academic, residential treatment, and psychiatric inpatient prior to beginning her private practice in Fullerton almost eight years ago. In 2006, Cathy founded the Southern California Personal Assistance League, a nonprofit organization providing in-home behavioral coaching to children and teens with severe behavior problems. Cathy and her husband are currently expecting their first child.

Ashley Arn, M.A.

Ashley Arn earned a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant Internation University in 2008. She is currently registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (#57906) and is supervised by Cathy Ballenger. While practicing as an MFT Intern, she is also in the final coursework for her Doctorate Degree in Psychology. Ashley has worked in the mental health field for over 9 years helping adolescents, adults, couples, and families to cope with a variety of struggles including: depression, anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, acculturation, disordered eating, domestic violence, familial issues, suicidal ideation, substance use, insomnia, divorce, grief, anger management and many more. When she's not working (or studying!), Ashley enjoys spending time with her best friend, her husband.


Michael Arn, M.A.

Michael Arn graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2008. He is currently a Doctoral Intern and is finishing up his graduate studies with the goal of becoming a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Michael has worked in both residential treatment facilities and outpatient mental health centers. He is a certified domestic violence counselor and has experience working with women and children survivors of domestic violence. He has experience working with teenagers and adults with a wide range of issues including relationship difficulties, depression, and anxiety. His passion is helping couples, parents and teenagers get along and establish lasting, healthy connections. Michael and his wife are founders of Crucial Habits, which is a company dedicated to helping people create healthy, fulfilling relationships and live a higher quality of life.
