When counseling isn't enough...
What happens when a child begins to exhibit dangerous, uncontrollable behavioral problems? What does a parent do when conventional parenting techniques no longer seem to work? Counseling often seems to be a likely answer. However, in some cases, counseling is not enough. Parents find themselves mentally, physically (and financially) exhausted trying to provide the best care for their child. They are faced with the ultimate decision: continue to exist with the resources they can scrape together or send their child to a treatment facility outside of the home. Neither of these are a comfortable solution...
SoCal PAL provides an alternative to out-of-home placement. It is designed to fill the gap... providing in-home care from a trained specialist. Personal Assistants (PA’s) act as coaches, providing 1:1 supervision in both the home and the community. They assist their client in decision-making, implement and maintain behavior modification programs, and teach alternative behaviors that lead their client to more successful outcomes. Parents are involved every step of the way, learning new techniques for interacting with their child in a way that is both productive and satisfying.
SoCal PAL is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization that provides services to families throughout Orange County, California. If you would like more information, please use the form below. One of our representatives will contact you shortly.
